Fall is finally here!!

It is chilly outside! I wasn't expecting it and my capris and sandals aren't cutting it! I'm definitely wearing long pants and a jacket tomorrow. I'm a wimp when it comes to cold weather! I'm really excited about Halloween! It will be Brady's first Halloween that he really knows what is going on. I imagine he will think it is the coolest thing ever that people will be giving him gobs and gobs of candy! The boy has his daddy's genes and lives for candy. I'm not sure how he'll take the scary decorations though. Zach tried on his Darth Vader costume and Brady said, "Off Zachie, OFF!" He didn't want him to come near him with that mask on. Our neighbors have a skeleton in their front yard and Brady says "Scary mommy, scary!" Brady is going to be a monkey for Halloween. I ordered him the cutest little fuzzy Old Navy Monkey costume off of ebay. It is very fitting since he is such a monkey....always climbing on everything! Ally is dressing up as daddy for Halloween. She has a little dress shirt, dress pants, daddy's tie, and we got her some patent leather boys dress shoes. She has a black wig and we practiced drawing a goatee on her face the other day. Brady didn't like that much either!! I love to dress up too, but not sure if I'm going to dress up or not this year. I've been too wrapped up in the nanny/daycare situation to think about it much.

Some of my favorite family pics ever are the pictures that we took at the Pumpkin Patch last year. We are going to go back this weekend. I hope we get some more good shots! I really like pics in the natural light. They seem to turn out the best. My mom is going to be out of town this weekend, so she won't be able to join us at the Pumpkin Patch. I'm hoping to harass some poor stranger into taking some shots of all of us. Ally and Zach are both really good at taking pics too, so I'm sure they'll be happy to step out of own or two shots to be the photographer. They love it when I post a picture that they took on my myspace. :)

A New Nanny- Phew!!!

So, I haven't managed to be able to blog since Brady started Montessori, because it would have been too depressing. I had a very hard time with Brady going to school and so did he! I thought about blogging about his first day, but I was really just too much of a mess that day!! I thought that he was going to adjust and learn to like it, but that didn't happen. He was sick about half of the three weeks he attended, and rather than learning to like it, it only got worse. The last few days that he went, he screamed and cried constantly. He was having serious separation anxiety and cried all through the night and screamed if anyone other than me touched him. He is usually such a happy boy and rarely cries, but he started crying all the time! I bawled my eyes out the last day I took him. I looked in the window a few minutes after I dropped him off and he was still crying. None of the teachers comforted him. I understand that they have a "Independence is best" philosophy, but he isn't even two and he needs to be loved on when he is screaming! We signed on to a nanny site that day and scheduled an interview that evening. When I went to pick him up after school, everyone was in a circle, but he was standing in the back hugging his blanket, crying...alone. That broke my heart!

The nanny ended up being a perfect fit and she started Monday. She has a two year old son, Trenton, and he and Brady really hit it off!! They play, dance, and hug all day long and have a blast. They are both such sweet, mommy's boys and they were instantly best friends. Ashton, the new nanny, is a sweetheart and is great with all the kids. Ally said she loves her! Zach is still shy with Ashton, because she is such a pretty girl, and he never talks much to pretty girls. :) I really feel like God sent them to us and I am so thankful that my life is coming back in order. I was about to lose it having to watch Brady be so sad going to school.
