YAHOO!!!
I am planning to blog about our vacation, but I'm waiting until we get our pictures uploaded so I have some visual aids. For now, I want to talk about Ally and Zach's vacation away from us.
We left Mt. Vernon to head to Graceland on Monday, the 21st. The kids stayed at their nana and papa's. It was just supposed to be the two of them, but Brian's sister and her kids ended up staying for a week as well. I was relieved to hear that, because I was worried Ally and Zach would be too bored and I was glad that they had playmates. The first few days, we received very few phone calls and the kids were like "is that all you needed?" when I would call them. I felt a little bit like chopped liver. They were busy catching fish, playing with their cousins, swimming, and playing lots and lots of video games. That "I don't need my parents" attitude didn't last long, at all. After about 4 days they started calling regularly, and after 6 days they started calling non-stop! Ally would call me all day at work, then she and Zach would fight when he wanted to talk too. Neither of them would let me off the phone without a huge ordeal.
They were both chomping at the bit to come home! Brian met his parents in Little Rock yesterday to get them, and they got home last night at midnight. This morning, Zach was literally clinging to my legs as we walked down the stairs. Both of the kids hugged me so tight and we were all so happy to see each other. I had to go to work, but I can't wait to love on my little angels some more tonight. I missed them so much.
Brady was beyond excited to see his siblings. They were so precious together, hugging and kissing and talking up a storm. They all missed each other so much. I loved seeing all of their faces light up when they were reunited after 10 days of being apart.
I am so happy to have my family back together. Everything feels normal again, and after 10 days of being without me, Ally and Zach sure do make me feel loved! :)
